The Department of Administrative Police for Social Order (C06) under the Ministry of Public Security (Vietnam) is responsible for assisting the Minister in unifying the management, direction and guidance of the Administrative Police force in performing state management of security and order for conditional business lines and protection services; state management of weapons, explosives, and support tools; seal management; public order management; management, direction and guidance of the Administrative Police force nationwide in the work of registration and residence management; issuance and management of Citizen Identification Cards; construction, management and exploitation of the national database on population, serving the work of state management of residence, ensuring security, national defense, economic and social development in accordance with the provisions of law and the Minister. The Department applies information technology to management, administrative reform and ensuring social order.
The Department has completed and put into operation the national population database, supporting administrative reform and improving the effectiveness of state management.
Department C06 continues to affirm its core role in administrative management of social order, making an important contribution to national development and security.
